About the Author

David Stanley Epstein is a native New Yorker who has traveled around the world trading gems. He has lived in the heart of the most intensive mining region of Brazil since 1983.
Among his credits are that he has been a gem consultant to the People's Republic of China and a foreign editor of Colored Stone Magazine. He is also a renowned gem sculptor and cutter.
Mr. Epstein has been published in the Lapidary Journal, Joyas y Joyeros (Madrid) and other gem and jewelry publications.
