The Canadian Institute of Gemmology is a permanent official observer of the Parlement. C.I.G. students can participate free at all events (only transportation costs must be paid by the student). The next European meeting takes place in Amsterdam, The Netherland in May 1998. The Parliament was established by the European Community and has presently members from 14 European countries.
